Inspiration for my infographic project

Not sure if you've already see this, but it gets me in the infographic mood. :-)

New versions of elephant bait

So with this first one, I lightened up the small (yet previously dark) pieces of text and tried to increase the focus on the brand name ("Elephant Bait" in this case). I wasn't quite sure how to spice up the oval with the "see back [for instructions]" bit. I straightened it up a little and made it not centered on the border. The brand is bigger but I'm not sure I've taken care of filling up all the white space on the front. I feel like something needs to be there on the upper right of the front, but not quite sure what should go there...

I made this little thing thinking I could work it in, but that didn't seem to pan out. Still thinking...

With this second one, I wanted to try to create a Nutrition Facts portion to the label to work into the design since that's something I've never done and it'd be required if this product were going to be sold. It looks like a mess to me although I suppose the Nutrition Facts are never the nicest visual addition. Maybe this will look better once it's wrapped around a real container.

Household item redesign

This is where I am so far. I decided to change peanut butter's usage to "elephant bait". I didn't go the Raid route to create a serious & scary design. Maybe I'm not completely in line with the assignment but I figured it would still be a food item for kids but just a more fun/light-hearted way of selling it. I tried to make it fun and more of an invitation to imaginative play. I tried to have fun retro colors with a circus inspiration. Maybe the copy needs to be more lively, I'm still thinking about it.

It would still be packaged in a jar, although I suppose I could liven that up. My first design is meant to be wrapped around a jar with the elephant truck bending over the lid (as a seal that would break when the lid was turned).

* It's hard to tell but the elephant body parts have a painted texture to them.

What's in process of being made: illustrations for instructions, something on the ingredients section (possibly), etc.

Still exploring...

So I've still been trying new things, this time trying new fonts but keeping with a more straight forward layout. I think I need to try more interaction between the display & body texts, that's what made some of those good examples & some of your work more interesting. Tomorrow's my "Saturday" so I'll work more on it then... still more spreads to go. :-)

With the pieces that are in grey, I was thinking they might eventually be color, but I couldn't decide on colors I was happy with yet.

Just trying to think of ways to open these up a little to be more interesting... Maybe have the O in "Rock" drop down a little or pick up a little character from the "experimental version" from my previous post?
